Lea Weimann is a PhD researcher in international environmental and climate change law at the University of Cambridge, where she also serves as Executive Director of the Cambridge Pro Bono Project. Her research explores emerging ecocentric legal frameworks, including rights of nature and ecocide law. As co-lead of Youth for Ecocide Law at Stop Ecocide International and a UN delegate, Lea has represented youth voices at major global conferences such as COP27, COP28, Stockholm+50, and UNFCCC SB58. She holds an LL.M in Global Environmental and Climate Change Law from the University of Edinburgh and a First-Class Honours MA in International Relations & Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews, where she received the Principal’s Medal for academic excellence and service. Beyond academia, Lea is an experienced climate communicator, podcast host, and author of DEAR EARTH, a book of poetry bridging art and environmental advocacy. She is also a published researcher and co-author in the field of sustainable healthcare governance. Through her popular LinkedIn newsletter Legal Wednesdays, she shares insights on global developments in environmental and climate law.
